Application Put on Hold...

Needed These

Last week we went to the post office to apply for passports for the family for a cruise up to Alaska and Canada we're taking this summer with Todd's dad and step mom otherwise know as Papa and Grandma. They LOVE to travel and they graciously bring us along when time permits.

This trip is much anticipated if you're anybody but...me. Gulp! And the only reason it's not wildly anticipated by me is because I'm a scardy cat and a big fat dork and I have an unfounded fear of the cold and of sharks. (No use trying to tell me that sharks don't swim in really cold water) 

Really afraid of this

Those fears kind of go hand and hand. I saw the movie Open Water and I worry about being thrown over board from the cruise ship with nobody noticing and being surrounded by sharks. This worrying is what makes me a good mother. I anticipate band aids and Plan B's and sharks while my husband is anticipating the wonder and excitement and the awe. It's why kids need two parents! We perfectly balance each other out.

But back to why the application is on hold...uh, our birth certificates (and I don't have any other copies) are with the United States Government while they process our passports. Which is a good thing since hopefully we'll be needing those to go to Uganda sometime in the future. So we're getting a two fer, trip to Alaska and Canada and hopefully soon, Uganda!
